Scotiabankers Spread Holiday Cheer in Guyana
Every year Scotiabankers from Guyana's five branches come together to spread Christmas cheer in their communities. The Robb Street and Carmichael Street branches and units go carol singing along the City streets, visiting several orphanages and homes for the elderly, lead by Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Employees purchase gifts for the children while the Bank donates huge hampers filled with treats to all the homes.
The Robb Street branch takes Christmas to the children of Saxacalli, an Amerindian village in the interior. The children are treated to a party and gifts from a Scotia Santa.
The Parika, Bartica and New Amsterdam branches undertake various activities, including carol singing, hampers for the elderly and gifts for under-privileged children in their communities.
