How to Apply

To apply for a Scotiabank account, you’ll need to visit your local Scotiabank branch and bring the following items with you:

1. One piece of government-issued ID, with photograph and signature, such as:

  • Passport
  • National ID
  • Driver's licence

2. One secondary piece of identification. The following are valid:

  • Birth certificate
  • Credit card
  • Debit Card
  • Tax ID card
  • Employee ID Card
  • Other Government Issued Identification (e.g. NIS Card)

3. Proof of address, such as:

  • Letter from your employer
  • Recent Utility Bill (6 mths)
  • Bank account statement with post marked envelope
  • Copy of Lease or Letter from Landlord

4. Proof of Employment

  • Job letter or recent payslip (salaried persons)
  • Recent financial statement (self-employed persons)

5. Taxpayer's Identification Number (TIN) Certificate

If you are a non-resident customer:

  • Banker's Reference from a reputable bank is required
  • Passport
  • Proof of Address ( e.g. current account statement, recent utility bill)
