The Scotiabank Community Programme in Guyana unites all of our charitable efforts, allowing us to have a stronger impact on a cause we care about: helping young people. Guided by our purpose, we believe our success is inherently tied to the communities we serve. Our investment in young people is focused on having meaningful and measurable impact on the lives of our future generations.
The Scotiabank Community Programme in Guyana is the foundation of Scotiabank's philanthropic efforts in the country and incorporates both corporate giving and employee volunteerism. Through partnerships with registered, charitable organizations, we support events and programmes in the areas of health and sports, to education, arts and culture, and the environment, as well as by helping the underprivileged, all to ensure that young persons have access to opportunities to realize their full potential.

Empowering youth to lead the green economy.
Recover Guyana
Scotiabank Guyana has partnered with Recover Guyana to empower vulnerable youth through Project ENGAGE, a green entrepreneurship and employment programme focused on building sustainable futures.
Launched in 2024, Project ENGAGE equips young people, particularly those at risk of crime, school dropout, and unemployment with practical green skills, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and financial literacy. Participants receive hands‑on exposure to eco‑friendly technologies such as hydroponics, recycling, and renewable energy, alongside job‑readiness and community engagement support.
Building on the success of the first phase, ENGAGE 2.0 expanded in 2025 to support 180 youth across Regions Two, Three, and Four, with Scotiabank’s support delivered through its ScotiaRISE social impact platform. Together, Scotiabank and Recover Guyana are fostering economic inclusion, environmental stewardship, and long‑term community resilience across Guyana.

Strengthening STEM education access.
STEMGuyana
Scotiabank Guyana has partnered with STEMGuyana to strengthen and expand the Learning Pods Programme, a nationwide initiative providing after‑school support in Science, Mathematics, English, Technology, Robotics, and Coding for primary and secondary students.
Launched during the COVID‑19 pandemic to address learning loss, the programme now includes 30 learning pods across Guyana’s 10 regions, impacting thousands of students. For the 2025 academic year, Scotiabank committed GY$6.6 million under its ScotiaRISE platform to enhance programme sustainability and reach.
The partnership was further deepened through financial literacy workshops, reaching 117 students in five learning pods with practical training in budgeting, saving, and investing. Together, Scotiabank and STEMGuyana are building stronger academic, digital, and financial foundations to help young people thrive.

Partnering to build skills and strengthen youth employability.
Youth Challenge Guyana
Scotiabank Guyana has partnered with Youth Challenge Guyana to strengthen youth employability through Launching Out, a six‑week plumbing and life‑skills training programme designed to expand economic opportunity for vulnerable young people. Backed by a GY$6.5 million investment, the initiative equips participants with certified technical training in plumbing, alongside essential instruction in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, work ethics, self‑management, and occupational safety.
Delivered by experienced instructors, the programme also prepares participants for contractor licensing procedures and seeks to provide internship opportunities that bridge training and real‑world experience. By addressing barriers to employment while responding to Guyana’s growing demand for skilled tradespeople, the partnership supports income‑generating pathways, entrepreneurship, and long‑term economic resilience for youth and their communities.
